Meet Stacey Munson

It was obvious from a young age that horses would be part of my life, my Mum had ridden all her life and I was always at the stables with her, it was only a matter of time before I started riding myself. I was lucky enough to have my own pony when I was 7 years old and what a gem she was!. She taught me to ride, jump, gallop and fall!!!

After realising I had a passion to ride my Mum took a back seat and worked every hour she could to enable me to have my own ponies. My passion was jumping and hunting and I remember being out every weekend at an event. My Mum gave up everything for me, on the condition that I did everything myself, so every morning and every evening before and after school I was at the stables taking care of my ponies, I’m so glad of this and I strongly believe that is what gave me the amazing bond with my ponies and also taught me to work hard and be dedicated, something I pride myself on today!.

Age 14, after spending my childhood jumping I decided I wanted to try dressage, much to the surprise of my Mum. So I ‘played’ at dressage until I was 16.

Immediately after leaving school I went to work for Linda Keenan at Layham Hall. I started out as a groom and within a year, because of my hard work and dedication, I was promoted to head girl and rider. It was here, under the supervision of international rider Kenneth Dyrby, that I discovered my passion for dressage and was lucky enough to get to ride horses of all levels up to PSG.

My experiences at Layham Hall have proved invaluable to my continuing understanding of dressage and with refection, taught me a lot with regards to the insight needed in order to educate and nurture the dressage horse successfully.

After four years at Layham Hall I relocated to Hertfordshire to work for international rider Daniel Sherriff as head girl and rider.

My role at Bayford Hall allowed me to work closely with both the owners and horses enabling me to build strong relationships, again invaluable experience which has helped me to confidently build and grow my own business.
Over the years I have specialised in training ponies for international competition.  Huge success has been had by European team ponies Gigolo and Ferrari.

I also have a passion for training young dressage horses and have trained my own horse Showbiz, whom I purchased as a 4 year old, to Grand Prix level.

In 2009 I spent some time training in Germany with world famous trainer Jean Bemelmans. This was a lifetime opportunity to learn from the very best!.

Stacey Munson DressageWhen I was looking into choosing a trainer for my two young horses. I was delighted to be able to send my horses to Stacey. Young horses have particular needs and are very sensitive. Over the years having used different trainers, I know that what they say and what they will do is frequently less than what is promised. I knew that my horses would receive not only the best riding and training with Stacey, but the special care that I want them to receive when they are away from home. It is wonderful to not worry about your horses, when they are away in training. Stacey Munson Dressage
